Welcome!
Ferring is a small village, in the south of England, where my ancestors are from. This study involves them plus the other residents, buildings and events that took place there. Through parish records, wills, censuses and various other documents, we will attempt to recreate the life of Ferring residents throughout the centuries. Any stories collected about Ferring will be included in the Histories section. If you have some history to add, use the "Contact Us" page and let us know.
Ferring has been part of several registration districts since civil registration began in 1837.
Worthing - July 1 1837 - Dec 31 1869
East Preston - Jan 1 1870-March 31 1935
Worthing - April 1 1935 - March 31 2010

Parish records were divided as follows

Volume 2 contained the Baptisms and Burials from 1675-1759, and the Marriages from 1675-1756, also written on parchment paper.
Volume 3 contained Baptisms and Burials from 1760-1799, written on parchment paper.
Volume 4 contained Baptisms and Burials from 1800-1812, written on parchment paper.

From 1813, Baptisms, Burials, and Marriages were contained in their own book on paper.
